A Community that Genuinely Cares for Each Other

Tom Esposito

My story involves a stranger whose name I never learned. It was my freshman year and I can only imagine how much I stuck out that day, head down, starring at my printed schedule trying to find a specific room.

Next thing I know, I hear a stranger ask "Do you need help?" I sure did. That simple act of helping me find my room stuck with me, it was something I hadn't experience before. A person went out of their way to help a complete stranger make it to their first class on time.

That little act really stuck with me, and I think that's what makes this University great. We're a community that genuinely cares for each other. That is something I had never seen on another campus. The following year I made sure to pass that kindness on, and I hope that stranger did the same.
